Events › Social Justice Begins With ME

Join the book club! Each month, the Social Justice Begins with ME book club examines a different social justice topic. All participants will enjoy a snack and themed craft activity.

Children ages 4 –8 listen to a book read by a volunteer and discuss the month’s social justice topics in small groups. Children ages 9 –11 will read a book in advance and discuss the book as a group.

September 13: Racial Justice
October 11: Human Rights
November 15: Environmental Justice
December 13: Gender Equity

This program is a partnership between the Grand Rapids Public Library and the School of Social Work at Grand Valley State University.

¡Únase al club de lectura! Cada mes, el club de lectura “La justicia social empieza CONMIGO” examina un tema diferente de justicia social. Todos los participantes podrán disfrutar de una merienda y una manualidad temática.

Los niños/as de 4 - 8 años escucharán un libro leído por un voluntario y luego discuten los temas de justicia social del mes en pequeños grupos. Los niños/as de 9 - 11 años leerán un libro con anticipación y lo discutirán en grupo.

11 de octubre: Derechos Humanos
15 de noviembre: Justicia Ambiental
13 de diciembre: Equidad de Género
