Dr Winakur gives a bleak view of what happens to us all as we age, decline and eventually succumb to illness or uncontrollable events. I think this book is worthwhile to read to get a realistic picture of aging. Dr Winakur gives good advice and has a very good heart - he cannot however understand those children who are not just "disappointed" with their parents but who have long ago lost the basic heart of the relationship.
