I learned about this book at my gym, where they train clients using a similar method as described in this book. I read this book to understand the science behind these methods, and after reading it, I'm going to give this training a try on my own. I've gotten pretty good results with the similar training that I've been doing. Some of the science is advanced reading, but the training routine is explained clearly.

Way too in-depth for the casual reader. With a subtitle with 'complete fitness in 12 minutes a week', I was expecting a lighter read. Book can be a lot shorter, but good for academics. Do the 'Big 5 Exercises' once a week, do the exercises slowly and switch between them quickly. Now to get to the gym and try them out.

This book presents an interesting case for a strength training with some radical differences from currently standard accepted methods. It has received some (surprise!) glowing reviews on Amazon. While in many ways I think it has some interesting insights, in my opinion it "cherry picks" its research studies, making its conclusions more extreme and seemingly certain than the broader scientific literature indicate.
It's definitely worth reading - it's a fairly fast read unless you take the time to look up the citations - but I'd recommend reading books with other points of view.
