I read the adult version of this book and when I saw there was a picture book version, I just had to get it. I am a strong believer in the "bucket" concept which is: with every interaction with another person, there are negative and positive consequences. This book does a wonderful job of teaching the concept in a simple way. First, Felix learns how a personal "feeling" bucket can be emptied through negativity. Then he learns how it can be filled with the positive. The authors also show how helping others can fill their buckets, AND your own at the same time. I love the end where it shows how Felix understood the bucket concept and put it into practice.

This is a wonderful learning tool for school age children. I do not know if children younger than first grade would understand this abstract concept though.
