4 - 4 1/2 star read. I love MacMillan's books and really enjoyed this thriller. We meet Lucy Harper who is a best selling author of crime books and her husband Dan, a failed author who acts as her business manager. Lucy is a bit of a strange bird, insecure and still talking to her childhood invisible friend Eliza and traumatized by an experience as a young girl when her 3 year old brother disappeared when he was with her. Dan starts acting strangely and then he disappears and the police start looking at Lucy very closely. In the meantime, Lucy is determined to try to find out what happened to her brother Teddy and also to discover what secrets Dan had. This was a very good read and I enjoyed it.

I was so disappointed with the ending. The book was great up to that point.
