This was a good movie and it was so cut the dog was really smart:)!!!

Good virtual dog development but he acted more like a kid than a dog. Should do well with young families.

The shallow script prevented any characters from standing out. Change the title to  "Call of the Mundane".

Good family film, but don't expect it to follow the book. I thought the CGI was very well done, and the only way most of the animal scenes could ever be brought to life.

An excellent wildlife adventure with great acting scenes.

I read the book many years ago, so I'm not sure how closely this followed the book. I was disappointed that so much of the movie was CGI and not very good CGI at that; I'm not sure why they couldn't use a real dog for most of it. Many times, the movements of the dogs were nothing like the way a dog runs or moves. Plus, they really anthropomorphized the dog to make it more unrealistically human-like in actions and emotions. I'm sure kids would like the movie much more that many adults. It's not bad, but I expected more since it stars Harrison Ford.

Unappealing animation. Even Harrison Ford can’t save it. Read the book.

We really liked this film. High on my list for a PERFECT FAMILY FILM!!!! Lots of action in breathtaking scenery (assuming most of it was CGI embedded) and perfection delight in the performances of all the animals! Who would have thought years ago that animation could become so realistic?! Fantastic artwork folks!!! Hope they get recognition at the various awards events. Harrison Ford was great but those CGI animals paled his performance! Ha!

This is a wonderful family movie blending animation and real live characters of Harrison Ford and CGI dog, Buck. It's a little long (1 hr and 40 minutes ), but worth the time spent.
