Troubles in Paradise
A Novel
Book - 2020
After uprooting her life in the States, Irene Steele has just settled in at the villa on St. John where her husband Russ had been living a double life. But a visit from the FBI shakes her foundations, and Irene once again learns just how little she knew about the man she loved. With help from their friends, Irene and her sons set up their lives while evidence mounts that the helicopter crash that killed Russ may not have been an accident. Meanwhile, the island watches this drama unfold -- including the driver of a Jeep with tinted windows who seems to be shadowing the Steele family. As a storm gathers strength in the Atlantic, surprises are in store for the Steeles: help from a mysterious source, and a new beginning in the paradise that has become their home. At last all will be revealed about the secrets and lies that brought Irene and her sons to St. John -- and the truth that transformed them all.

Add a CommentThis book was a disappointment. Having read all of her books, my favorites were those taking place in Nantucket. The writer has changed her style and target audience. Do wish she's revert back to "the good old days."
So happy that I read Winter in Paradise and What Happens in Paradise before launching into this conclusion of the trilogy.
The book gets off to a slow, disappointing start, and I'm glad that I pressed on. The author does a credible and interesting wrap-up infused with the real-life drama of a hurricane in the Virgin Islands.
Nice distraction from politics and Covid.
'Troubles in Paradise' redeemed the trilogy and is so much better than the 'What Happens in Paradise' (Paradise, #2). The characters developed some depth and have grown up!
The angst of the previous books is resolved maturely. The hurricane ending is riveting, especially given that it is the fact of the hurricane and love of the island that led to the series. It brings the series full circle for the author.
4 stars
A satisfying end to the trilogy!
I hope you can get copies of the actual paper Hilderbrand books. Reading at the end of these crazy days is the best medicine for a heavy heart.
Not my favorite of the trilogy, but it was a great series and a really fun read. Nice to get it all wrapped up.
I hope you get the audio book. These books wouldn't be the same to me without hearing her reading them. I prefer to read all of Elin's books this way.
Need to secure the trilogy in order and read.
I would like it in hard cover large print.
I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS IN LARGE TYPE
