Startlingly graphic, more than a little racist, and oddly compelling. This book nods to most of the classic vampire elements, and leaves them behind. It's characters walk neatly along the edge between to human and too monstrous, finding the balance that is vampire. With an interesting, and fairly novel plot line, it was a nice surprise for a book I'd personally never heard of before.
